Four seniors named 2013 Gates Millennium Scholars
Flint Community Schools’ outstanding string of Gates Millennium Scholars remains unbroken, as four seniors have been awarded the prestigious and richly deserved scholarship for 2013. The district's newest Gates Scholars are: Jalen Eason, Northern High School; and Asia Johnson, David Johnson and Jade Stith, all of Southwestern Classical Academy. In addition, Asia and David Johnson is the district’s first sister-and-brother pair to win in the Gates scholarship in the same year....

NW students share "24 Things About Me"
Students at Northwestern High School collaborated with students at the University of Michigan's Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design, producing personal video portraits showing 24 everyday life scenes through their eyes. The documentary was shown at the Flint Free City Festival, May 3-5....

The Flint Community Schools’ Sex Education Advisory Board will meet tomorrow, May 23, from 3-4 p.m. at the Williams Center located at 3501 Minnesota Ave. The meeting will provide parents the opportunity to share comments and ideas about the teaching of sexuality education in Flint Community Schools.
