Flint Community Schools is developing a community of learners who
are prepared to live, work, and contribute to an ever changing society.



 

Each June all Flint elementary schools participate in a field day.

The Fine Arts Department plans games and fun for students of all ages.  




 All fourth graders in the Flint Community Schools received
Water Safety Instruction through the YMCA.
The program was funded by the Ruth Mott Foundation.



 

 

On November 8, 2011, the Fine Arts Department of the
Flint Community Schools hosted a Professional Development Session
for the Early Childhood Development Department. It is hoped that the
collaborative effort and sharing of ideas between the Fine Arts Staff
and those involved directly in the education of our youngest students
will enable all of us to better fulfull our mission.

Instrumental opportunites in the Flint Schools begin with small group
instruction at the elementary level and are expanded during middle
school, culminating in high school with a full range of options.



 

 

The vocal music program in the Flint Community Schools offers
students an opportunity to expand their horizions and experience
the performing arts.



 

Elementary physical education promotes active healthy life styles
for all students.



 

 

Students in the Flint Community Schools are encouraged to explore
the Fine Arts.  Art classes develop creativity through many different
mediums.



As part of the Academics Central team, we will work to provide quality
arts education to all students to prepare them to live, work, and become
contributors in a global society.

 


Upcoming Events 

The various fine arts divisions of the district offer many exciting art events
throughout the school year. These include: marching band, concert band,
music competitions, art displays within the district, and holiday seasonal
performances.



Enrichment Programs

The Fine Arts and Home Arts programs of the Flint Community Schools
offer non-credit enrichment classes for adults and children. Classes are
offered during the fall and winter school terms. One-day workshops called
“Special Happenings” are also scheduled during these terms. Class fees,
length of classes and locations vary.
